Good evening everyone I ask about how to registered a marriage to your own country for example Philippines I am currently here in Norway now almost 1 month now I not yet register it is necessary I do it or only this country will submit please help me thanks again.

stephy25

Just follow the instruction about report of marriage given in the website of Philippine embassy-Oslo. And they entertain questions in a friendly manner when you call them.

It is up to you, some people doesn't report it but it is stated to be compulsory under law as a filipino citizen:
"It is a continuous, permanent and compulsory recording of vital events occurring in the life of an individual such as birth, marriage, and death, as well as court decrees, and legal instruments affecting his civil status in appropriate registers as mandated by Act No. 3753, the Civil Registry Law."

Also this is needed if you  want to change your name on your passport or other documents you might have in your home country (example is prc license) you do need to register. Also this

Good day to all,..

Thank you so much for those who answered my questions this past few weeks. We went to UDI yesterday May 26,2016  just to pass some application as what your topic furom says.Since my visa is a tourist visa I can`t apply a fiance visa here in Norway, and yes I know I have to go back in Philippines cause I`ve done this before .And this is my second time to visit Norway.
Thank you so much guys,...

stephy25

Have a safe trip home.

As mentioned at the quoted statement from udi, there are certain criteria that you need to meet to be allowed to apply for another visa while on tourist visa. I have written that at the start of the thread so as not to give false hope or misleading information.

glendora_19

Thank you so much Stephy and to all of you guyzzz..

Hello,

I'm just worried again because I met some Filipino friends outside and they told me I have to go back to Philippines after my wedding and apply for spousal visa. By the way I'm here because of Fiancee visa I arrived here June 1 and first week of July we're going to get married. Is it really true I need to go home after the wedding? We cannot apply here this spousal visa or family immigration visa? Because I don't like to go home, I don't like to live my future husband here alone again.

Thanks,
Mitz39

stephy25

If you are holding a fiance visa then follow this instruction found in UDI's website: You have married your fiance

Stated there is:

If you have a residence permit for getting married and you have got married, you must now apply for family immigration with your spouse.

Just follow the instructions there and click on "how to apply" I believe you don't need to go home and can apply inside Norway to change your visa after the fiance visa.

mitz39

Thanks stephy25 I also read that part. I'm getting conscious when they told me I have to go home after 6 months and apply again in the Philippines. They live here in in Norway for long time so I thought they are right. I feel relief now.

stephy25

As long as when you check in UDI's website and it says you can, do not worry.

The sad part is there are some around us who aren't very aware of the current process and would rather give unsure or outdated information than to say they don't know. I have experienced what you are experiencing now, the confusion from other's opinion. It doesn't mean that because they are in Norway for a long time they know all because the way of processing during their time is different from today; requirements/fees/waiting period have changed

The key is if you are reading information from correct websites you will do just fine. :)

Nadkiz007

Im trying to book for appointment for my resident card in july bcoz my travel will be in july but there is no available date in july.donno what to do

stephy25

When this happened to me i keep checking everyday for a slot in sched to open because many people cancel their appointments too.

But if you are not patient for this maybe you can ask your wife to call politi and ask.

Hello everyone and Hi Stephy,
Thankyou for everything once again..I have one question if we are going to norks school what we do, and do I wait for the letter to tell about need to enroll? or I am the one to go to sch. and inform about I need to learn norks language..Sorry Stephy but I need your advice..

stephy25

You are the one who needs to go to the school and enroll yourself. Check the website of your kommune to know their contact number and address and also the things you need to bring.

twinkler

I printes mine and wrote on it with a pen, but maybe you can open it on an application in your pc/laptop like adobe acrobat. I am not techy so i did the old fashioned way so maybe if you dont wanna wait for other's response just print and write.

TMilimo

twinkler

stephy25

That is quite weird since i wrote mine by pen when i reported my marriage in the philippine embassy in Oslo and i didn't hear or receive a response like that from them.

Maybe it is a new process that i didn't know.

twinkler

Thank you Stephy... and I thank God for 3 hours looked on computer how to make a way and I'm glad
I did.:). I need to download adobe acrobat to fill up on the space provided, I understand too and maybe its
a new process. Anyways guys thank you so much for answering my query and to you Steph, I always thankyou. One more thing about Marriage certificate because I pass the original and something wrong to filled up the name of the officiating Judge..I ask about on the marriage certificate I cannot see or maybe only I don't yet understand Norks language..are they put the name on the paper who presides the ceremony in court? Dear TMilimo  and Stephy25,

I need your help on this issue. My fiancé and I got married this July in the Norwegian embassy in Malaysia where I have a work permit. I had applied for a fiancée permit in January of this year. After the marriage, I went into the UDI portal and added my marriage certificate which was given to us from the embassy.

My question is this : do we need to do anything further to change the status of the application from fiancée to spouse? I only uploaded the marriage certificate and wrote that we got married.

Thanks.

stephy25

Make a call to inform them to change it, there are cases that it takes a while for them to see attachments if you don't call.

Toni4

Noted, we will do that immediately. Thank you :)

Mrs. Karlsen

Hello!

I need an advice. I found all of the posts here as useful so I am thinking to ask questions and Maybe you can help me. I am married to a Norwegian guy now and we got married here in Philippines. I was thinking to apply for a resident Visa but the problem is our Marriage Certificate is haven't been released since we just got married on June. What do you think is my other option to get there in Norway and get a resident Visa? if I get a tourist Visa and the allowable days of stay is limited is it possible for me to get a resident Visa in a short period of time and what are the requirements? or is it Better for  me to get an Entry Visa?and  If I will  get an Entry Visa do I have to apply for Residence Permit Visa first then after apply again for Entry Visa? I am very confused about this.

I hope you can help me.

Thanks a lot,
Riza from Gensan

I just want to ask regarding Report of Marriage in Philippine Embassy in Oslo, what did you write under "Name of Solemnizing/Officiating Officer" ? Was that the one that have signature on Vigselattest (Extract Record of Marriage) ? If Yes, what shall I write on "Title of Solemnizing/Officiating Officer"? Thank you guys.

Toni4

Hello everyone,

My husband and I got married last month at the Norwegian Embassy in the country where I am resident after we got the necessary approval from Skatt of no impediment to marriage. We submitted it at the Norwegian embassy and we were joined. I also applied for fiancé permit in January 2016 and have been waiting for the result. We have also submitted our marriage certificate at the UDI site. My question is this: I am hoping to apply for a D visa this September. If the D visa is granted, can I stay back in Norway until UDI grants me the family unification permit?
Thanks.

Nadkiz007

They issue d visa once u hve been granted permit.but if u want to apply for d visa then u hve to meet certain criteria which you can find out in udi website

Toni4

Ok. I will check the website. Thank you😊

@Twinkler how many weeks before you get your fødselnumber because mine im still waiting its one month now since I applied.

stephy25

@mitz

It depends on how busy skatteetaten in your area is. For example i got mine within 3-5 days and there are others who got it after a month or 2.

It won't hurt to call them and follow up so you will be updated :)

twinkler

Mitz39, its 3 months..do not worry days very fast and soon you will take care and God bless!
