Making phone calls in Guatemala

Post new topic

Maximilien

Hi,

When settling in Guatemala, one of the priorities is to be able to make phone calls.

How to proceed to get a landline installed in Guatemala?

What are the mobile operators?

What is your average monthly budget?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience,

Maximilien

Claro was previously known as telgua, and is source for landline telephone cable TV and Internet. Good packages of bundled services. Mobile phlones can be a source of arguments. I have had all three, tigo, Claro and moviestar. Claro service people were in my yard in San Pedro el alto, installing landline. They had to use my landline to call their office since none of their cell phones worked there. Moviestarr did not work in the inside of my first apartment in LA Canada, and other cement block buiildings. Tigo works great everywhere and has triple minute plans for those not on a service contract. I spend about 150 q a month for 450 minutes. Buy 100 q and get 300 minutes on triple days.
