Time taken from confirmation of selection to issuing the offer letter

Hi, I am an Indian and I have been confirmed by the consultant as well as the company that I have been selected and the offer is in process. When I enquired, I have been told by the HR of the company that they are waiting for the management approval. I have not received the offer as yet and around two months have been passed since I was confirmed that I have been selected. The company is a reputed one as I got to understand from various blogs.
Does company take such a long time to send offers? Should I believe that an offer will be made very soon since both the HR and the recruitment consultant has confirmed that the offer is in process?
I shall highly appreciate a reply fro you based on your ground experience.

Hi,

Offer letters are shared with candidates within a day or two once u r selected.

Only the attested offer letter takes time.

Hi.. Yes. As mentioned above, it will be sent to the candidate within a day or 2. If there is a process and approvals, then may take around a one week time.

Hi, thanks for your replies. I wonder if I am getting to correct information from HR and the recruitment consultant in that case! My sequence of events are as follows:

1) Interview in June 15
2) Confirmed by the recruitment agent that I have been selected in August 15
3) Recruiter asked a bunch of documents to process the offer immediately
4) All documents have been submitted asked by the recruiter by end of August 15
5) Processing of the offer got delayed due to Idd.
6) Offer is still under process as told by the recruiter as well as the HR department of the company

Is this normal and correct sequence of events for recruitment in Saudi? I want to ensure that I am not drained to a fools world!
