I personally do most of my shopping online using this price comparator:

But many online shops have a terrible stock management (Shown on the website as available but no stock in fact and no idea when they will get the products). Got many troubles like these...

What hardware are you looking for? I'm not into contstruction but i owned a construction company in the past. I was surprised to see many businesses with hardware from tractors, backhoes , to farm utensils or carpenter tools. You should have no problem finding what your looking for. I've done some painting, plumbing and found the things i needed.
