Muqeem card

Post new topic

KSA has replaced the existing Iqama with a new 5-year card called Muqeem from Oct 15, 2015. Would anyone know of the processing is any different for it to the existing Iqama, and how long it usually took for a new Iqama after landing in KSA?

Hi.

The processing is the same and the time limit of iqaama depends on the company. After arriving here, you need to again go for a medical test. They give you a hard copy of it. At the same time, upload the soft copy online. You then need to pay 500 riyals for 1 year Iqaama. After verification of your online report and payment of 500 riyals, they finally give you the NEW IQAAMA.

As of now, they are issuing 5 years iqaama. But there isn't much difference. You need to pay the 500 riyals yearly. The only advantage is that your card wont be discarded as it was done earlier to issue new Iqaama yearly.

Thanks I hope so that you are right. The PR at my company said the new system isn't coordinated with existing system so its taking time initially and he was less confident than with the previous Iqama system about getting it done within a week.
