Teaching languages in KL

Post new topic

Hi,

I am considering moving to Malaysia for 3 months or more. 3 months I can stay without a visa. I am a freelancer so I am wondering what are the possibilities to work as a language teacher? I teach English and French. Do people take up classes (either online or face to face), is there a valid market for that? Are there any companies contracting non-national freelancers?
And how's the pay?
Thanks in advance.

Hi you need a visa unless you are a Malaysian citizen any work (paid or unpaid) requires an employment pass.

So all of what you said is untrue and if you work here you will do so illegally.

There are language schools but they employ people properly as immigration raids happen. A stay in a Malaysian jail is not recommended !

Hi Nemodot, thanks for answering. But is it possible to get a visa for 6 months-1 year if you're not sent by your company? From what I read it's quite difficult to get such visa if you don't work or come for studies etc.
Thanks!
