Can u get a recording box in Gib? Something similar to a sky plus box? If so what are they called and where do i get one from?

Hammond in Watergardens sell Technisat boxes.

They are not cheap and they only work on DVBC so I believe they may not be suitable for internet systems like U-MEE

I have one and it is not as user friendly as a Sky box.

It can record 2 programs at the same time and can be set to record daily or weekly but will not track programs who's start times vary like F1 etc
