The old rate was 3,030 peso each two months, so about £22 per month or 30 Euro or $44 (at 8/12/2015 FX rates)
However, the new published rate seem to be about 50% higher, at PHP 4,400.00 for ONE month and PHP 4,900.00 for TWO months.
The first 29 day extension is still shown at 3,030 pesos though.

Thank you very much for your advise would love to talk more with you about stuff.
kimreg67 wrote:Darren, what kind of online business are you engaged in? I was in Dumaguete from June 2014 until last month. I am a retired teacher. Forget the last bit!! Just the fact that I am retired. However, if you fit the criteria, and unless someone has already told you, when you arrive in Manila, you have to present either a return air ticket or what is known as a throwaway ticket, indicating that you will fly out of the country before the first 29 days you are granted to stay in the country. It shows that on paper you will be leaving the Philippines on such and such a date. However, if your intention is to stay longer, you need to go to the nearest immigration office to where you will be. For me it was relatively easy, because there was such an office in Dumaguete. You need to go before the expiry of your first 29 days. The best time to go is a midweek lunchtime, when there are not so many people queuing up. You will need to get photocopies of the information about you which is contained in your passport. You will need to have filled in an application form and to have got two photos of you (without glasses, unsmiling) which have to be 2 cm by 2 cm. The first time you go you will be given 30 days, the second you have a choice of 1 or 2 months every time. After the 3rd time you will have to pay for a so-called ACR card. Every time you go to the immigration office you will have to pay on average about £50 or $75 per month. You have to go through the same steps every time you apply for an extension on your visa. You can use photos which are up to 3 months old. Yes, the bureaucracy is something to be got round without complaining, which is counterproductive.
I intend to return to Dumaguete next year to be with my partner who is currently looking for a job - online as well as otherwise. He is also interested in the hospitality industry. Have you ever been to the Philippines before? If you haven't, you will definitely need to prepare yourself for a culture shock. My advice is also to assume that you can't trust anyone - even foreigners. In other words people have to earn your trust, Use your gut instinct even more than you would back home. Be warned. Manila is well known for being scam city. Don't be caught out as so many are. Be streetwise all the time. For example, when you arrive at Manila, and you have an onward connection at a different terminal, get the shuttle bus straightaway, even if it means waiting a long time there. You will be safe.
If you do book a hotel, I would highly recommend the Nichols Airport Hotel. Book online through their own website. That way, you pay when you get to the hotel. You get a free transfer from the airport and a free breakfast. In other words they are both included in the price which is about £35 or $50 a night. Worth it, I would say.
Dumaguete which is situated on Negros Island, 1 hour 15 minutes south of Manila, might be just the place for you to go to. Lots of resorts, many owned by Swiss, Austrians or Germans. Most foreigners are American in their 50's and above.
Well, I know I have gone beyond answering your particular question, but I thought you might like to know what it is like to be a foreigner in the Philippines for the official side of things.

davtjo wrote:The ticket just needs to be an out of country ticket I always used to get the longest out date i could usually 6 or 9 months. Now I am permanently here I bought a cheapie ticket to Malaysia cost about 2500 peso. So if you intend to stay for 4 months get a ticket for your return 4 months hence.
does the return ticket have to be within 28 days
Mr.Darren wrote:does the return ticket have to be within 28 days
Mine never were 3 to 4 months on the last one.

Thank you so much for all the Information you have given me.
I work as an assistant secretary in one of the Consulting corporation here in Makati city
My advice is its better for you to contact the Philippines Embassy about your question as far as I know we do process visa extension for our student and I think you need to apply for students visa but of course you must have the supporting documents to prove that you are going to stay here as a student.and if its about business you must be at the legal age . there are some limitation too you are not allowed to own a house and lot or name the business under your name unless if you are married to a filipina or you have someone to be trusted . Philippines is like a scrambled egg for me . lol we have laws that doesn't makes sense and the funny thing here is law makers are the law breakers ahahahah
Id like to add as an additional info t Mindanao doesn't mean A red place to visit
Southern Mindanao is a safe place to live and Visit
Southern Mindanao is consist of Davao del Sul, Davao Del Norte Compustella Valley, Sarangani, and General Santos City next to it is Central Mindanao now known as Socksargen means South Cotabato Sultan Kudarat ,Sarangani General Santos City
The place where there's a High risk to traveler is within the ARMM means autonomous region in Muslim Mindanao
am not being racist.
Like tawi tawi, Kidapawan, Sharif agwak, and Cotabato city
you can visit the place if you have wide connections

There are some interesting place in Mindanao to Visit like Siargao and Surigao.
Specially Siargao. A very safe place to travel this place is interesting its a tiny island mixed of Local and Expats like English and Americans .

That is not really accurate is it.
Even being married to a Filipina, a Foreigner still cannot own the land. The Filipina will own it, not the foreigner, and on separation the Filipina would keep it.
This needs highlighting so people don't get it wrong.
