Im new to this blog and found it very informative. I'm moving to Jeddah for work and would like to know the recommended bank for expats. Which one gives to best rate for money transfer to home country? Online banking convenience, ATMs?

Plenty of banks here....

To remit options are Quickpay (NCB), Tahweel (Al Rajhi), Speed cash (Samba), Telemoney (ANB), Western Union, Enjaz and so on....

Get here and then you'll get an idea...

Or google banks in KSA and how to remit money back home...

Thanks Ali, appreciate it

they're all pretty much the same, you need an iqamah to open an account through

I see, so I can't have a bank account unless I have an iqama first. And how long does an iqama application take? Heard it can be a couple of months, is that true?

rareshine

yes it can take two months or 2 weeks. it all depends on how quickly it can get processed

Ok, thank you everybody for your info. Really appreciate it.
