Renting furnished house in rio de janeiro

Post new topic

Salaaeddine

Hello all

I am looking to come.with my wife and little baby boy if 2 years to stay 45 days  so that she gives birth. We are looking for furnished ground floor house /flat 1 bedroom in a friendly neighborhood ,ideally something at proximity of a good hospital. Would appreciate good advices about:
Suitable.neighborhoods
Reputed hospitals specially that she delivers by ceasarian cut
Cost of rent of furnished unit
Cost of hospital and dr.

Some.people advised about Foz de Iguacu also, what do you think ?

Thank you very much

James

First of all Foz do Iguaçu is quite a long way from Rio, and a much smaller city. It would not have nearly the medical resources and accommodations that Rio does.

Since the vast majority of births here in Brazil are done by C-Section almost all of the doctors you may find will be well experienced in the procedure. Hopefully one of our local members will give you a better idea of the costs, but you're probably looking at something starting around R$16 thousand or more at a private hospital. Public hospitals are highly unadvisable.

You will not find short-term rentals of houses or apartments. You can check the following sites for flat rentals.

Neighborhoods you might wish to consider would be Leblon / Ipanema / Copacabana  /  Botafogo

Cheers,
James
