Hi guys. I'm an Irish expat and I've moved to Bucharest. I've been an expat all over the world from London, Spain, Norway to Italy.

Romania is completely new for me. I work as an airline pilot and I enjoy sports. I also like a good night out and many different social activities.

See you all in the next cartoon!!
Ciao

Hello,

While I am new to this forum I am not new to Romania.  I am originally from the Pacific NW in US but have been living in Romania since 2006.  My colleague and I co-direct a nonprofit Faith Based national organization working with children and women out in villages in collaboration with the local churches.  We get to see so many beautiful parts of Romania and I love it here and am blessed to call it my home.  I'm always looking to meet new people.  Even after 10 years here I still learn new things all the time about Romania.  I love to network and connect with others who also love this country.

Hello, I'm not an expat, I'm Romanian, I live in Bucharest and I have 34 yo.
Why I'm here you might ask?
Well, I really need to practice my English with a English native speaker or someone who knows really good English.
Two reasons for this:
1. I feel that without communication all my efforts to speak very well are useless. I tried so many times to improve my english but with no luck without any friend to talk to in English.
2. I like having friends of other nationalities, I had none until now but I had a lot of business contacts with foreigners, for some of them I also played the role of a guide.

When I was little, my mother always taught me to make friends in Europe but at that time I considered this pointless as I hate all the friends that I need on my street.
Hopefully I'll find one or more here, man or women, does't care, just to be honest, with no unrelated intentions.

So if you need a romanian friend to spend with a part of your free time, to exchange informations during a glass of wine, beer and discuss about anything, let me know :)

I am Amir, been living in Bucharest for 13 years. I am teaching in a school and loving it. Fourth and fifth generation children amaze you with their intelligence and creativity.

We are also going to start culture association, of Pakistani community, in near future. Hope it would work well and successfully.

Greetings Everyone, My name is Dan and I'm from the U.S.  I am a retired attorney and have been living in Bucharest for 2 years. Except for the northern 3rd of the country, I have traveled to most major cities inside Romania. I am trying to learn Romanian but, unfortunately, thus far I am far from proficient. I am interested in, among other things, history, politics, architecture, music and dining, and enjoy travel and meeting new people.  I am available for volunteer work that serves a good cause.

Try the Pimsleur language course! I did it (sadly in Romanian they only have one unit/30 lessons), and it helped so much!

Hello,

I'm not sure where I'm moving to  just yet, but would love to get some more information about both Cluj and Timisoara, and other cities outside of Bucharest, if you have any experience there. My family is from Romania, although I am from Canada, so I'm returning to get to know my roots!

Hello everyone. I'm Andrew from Phoenix, Arizona.

I just joined the forum but I've been living in Bucharest for a year and a half. Like our friend, kenschex, my main preoccupation has been translating Romanian literature, but lately I've also been involved with some private art galleries in Bucharest. There's a really lively contemporary literature and art scene and Bucharest and I'm truly enjoying connecting with it.

Besides these things, I also like running in Cismigiu Park, riding my bike in the city (not during rush hour), and I'm also good for a beer or wine. Send me a private message if you'd like to meet!

Good luck.

Andrew

PS I know where you can find one of the best hamburgers in the world if anyone is needing comfort food. Again, private message.
