I  Have a 40 inch Sony Bravia television in excellent condition and wonder whether it is worth shipping it to Gozo. Will it work there. Any advice please

Malta uses a G type mains plug. Voltage 230 50hz

South Africa uses C,F, M AND N, but the voltage/frequency is the same; the upshot being you'll have to change the plug or use an adaptor.

The TV is compatible with pretty much any world TV system, but check your model will receive local broadcasts - just in case the SA specification isn't the same as other models.

Then consider any possible import duty you could face.

tearnet

No import duty on household goods imported from outside the EU provided they meet the criteria shown in this link.

Nothing on local TV worth watching and all in Maltese so look into getting an Android set top box with Kodi or to watch TV through a computer or better still a MagBox 250/254 with NTV (subscription) which has it's own on screen program guide and the Magbox comes with a proper remote. There are local suppliers of IPTV for a subscription but they don't usually have a program guide.
