I left a comment earlier but for some reason I don't see it here. I am a Canadian Expat that lives here full time and offer information based on my experience to those who are looking into Belize as an option. I realize I'm speaking in general terms, but specifics are slim at this time. City living, yes--- which side of the city can offer me safety, and night life. Suburb, close to city as possible with good transportation. These are only a couple. I will formulate more detail after I can obtain more info, not from what I have read, but from a face to face as I have wanted. My apologies for the vagueness!

first, you need to sharpen your communication skills.  What is your goal in moving to Belize?  Start a business retire?  That will determine the kind of advice you need.   Belize City is about 30,000 people and has little redeeming value, certainly no suburbs.  Most expats are on Ambergris Caye but it is pricey.  There are also many in N. Belize.
