Tet 2016

Post new topic

Lisa2016

Hi there
I'm from Australia and new in Vietnam. It's going to be my first Tet-weekend, here in HCMC. I heard there's going to be a firework somewhere, Sunday night, but I have no idea 'where'. I went to see the huge flower market, near Ben Tanh market, and wonder what else might be there for me to see, during this special time. Does anyone know about the fireworks and whether there are any other 'must see' going on? Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Hello Lisa2016,

Welcome on board  :)

Maybe some ideas here in the post of member Gobot : https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=559797

You may as well interact with him and ask him, he seems to know HCMC quite well.

Hope it helps

My advice, keep well away from District 1 on Tet Eve, its a nightmare. If you can get on top of an apartment building close to D1 its much more relaxing. If you do venture into D1 to watch, give yourself a few hours to get out after it has finished.

Yep, the streets of D1 will be chockablock with peeps and there will be no busses or taxis running. Have a look at: http://www.citypassguide.com/en/travel/ … -fireworks
