Hi,

As an expat living in Papua New Guinea, what would you advise the ones about to pack to bring along?

What are the items you can easily find in Papua New Guinea? On the other hand, what is less common or quite expensive?

Share with us what you would recommend to bring in ones suitcase or container when moving to Papua New Guinea.

Hi Christine,

Just try to bring necessary things: clothes and personal medicine.

On medicine, don't bring in too many or you may get subjected to a thorough interrogation or have the medicines confiscated.

Although you may not find the items you've grown accustomed to, you may find alternatives here.

I think you can bring in 1 Liter of liquor and 1 or 2 reams of cigarette. But to be safe, narrow the cigarette to 1 ream.

Although I'm not saying you that you may have, please check your laptop for pornographic material. It's prohibited in here.

Make sure if you are someone who likes watching movies etc you come with your own movies. Here in Lae there are no cinemas.
Pornographic movies are not allowed. There are no entertainments in lae.
Looking forward to see you when you come.
