attitudes towards GAY MEN in ecuador ???

I'm a 63 y/o --- conservative --- american --- gay man --- considering moving/retiring to Ecuador. Anyone have any info/advice for me???

Well, since nobody answered you, I'll throw in my 2 cents...
On my opinion, you'd be moving to a more difficult ground than US, although not entirely prohibitive. I know a gay, at his work 100 people know he is a gay, everything is fine for him, no discrimination. He shares more with women than men his personal life though...

Id say Quito is the most gay friendly place in Ecuador with the largest Gay scene...there are several gay bars in the Mariscal area...but in general in Ecuador "no pasa nada"...
