There isn't such a thing referred as american youtube but as for Youtubers accounts being blocked in particular isn't very likely and yes you can change location to America in youtube.For example I currently set it to Global as I am not interested in any local content recommendation or anything along those lines.

VPN
Yes VPNs do work but they will significantly slow your internet,so it's not an all out solution

Live Sports channel though their site
Many sports channels,that you can stream online through their site will be region locked,atleast majority of them

Movies/Series
Majority of the people atleast the younger crowd will be pirating the content here as a normal bases
I don't blame them as their is no Bluray renting schemes and new ones are too expensive,no theaters ,majority of the stream services are region locked and etc

Netflix
Strange they might be available i would contact there support service to be sure,as in the past I used to get a "Netflix not available in your country" post,when visiting their site,I don't see that anymore

Yes, Netflix is officially available in KSA since a couple of months.
Ted stuff is working as well. I play it on my Apple TV.
