Dealing with emergency situations in Nigeria

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everybody,

Dealing with unexpected situations abroad can be a very difficult matter. In order to better help expats and soon-to-be expats in Nigeria face such tricky situations, we invite you to share your advice and experience.

What are the key emergency numbers you should know by heart?

In the event of a legal problem, an accident, a natural disaster, an injury or the death of a close family member, what are the first things to do in Nigeria?

What are the things to plan ahead in order to better cope with such unexpected situations (registration at the Embassy, transport, medical, comprehensive insurance for instance)?

If you have gone through such experiences in Nigeria, do not hesitate to share your story.

Thank you in advance!

Priscilla

Hi Priscilla

I have been in Nigeria since 2001 and am in the emergency services industry.  Please let me know how to get hold of you so that we can discuss this and put a document together for all expats in Nigeria.

Kind regards

Jeanine

Hi Jeanine,

Priscilla forms part of the expat.com team and such topics are frequently posted so that we can gather a maximum info to help out expat or future expats.

Maybe you could pen down some of the emergency numbers or elaborate on what you think should be the first priority/actions taken in the event of an emergency in a post.

Surely it will help members.

Thanks in advance,
Bhavna
