Hi dear expat.com friends,

I have been here since 2008 and I would like you to know that the weather is usually not as hot as now... But for the hot weather you should be aware of heatstroke, I suggest you to not to be out at the peak heat time which is between 11am and 3pm. You also should be careful when you go to the beach, open pool or dessert trip. You should have enough water with you and don't forget to apply high factor sun protection creams before you get exposed to the sun.

Even if I was working outside for 5 years as a site engineer on several highway projects, some days where really tough for me. Only way to survive is drinking minimum of 2 liter of water, not eating heavy meals, (I mean fatty) and reducing caffein intake such as coffee, tea or fizzy drinks (coke), these drinks will force your body to loose water with your urine.

By the way when the weather is dusty please be aware of the dust you inhale while breathing or even talking. The particuls are so small, you can't notice but it will effect your health soon or later therefore to avoid future illnesses please use dust mask even a day or two after a major sandstorm...

For the mood changes, don't forget your mood only depends on you! Every day is a new day which is full of opportunities and joy therefore spend your days wisely and full because you can't live them again...

This is how I survived 8 years in Qatar.

Cheers!
