Hi all,
We are planing to move Riyadh in a short while.
I have got fairly good idea abt the cost of living and all thru net. My husband's offered 29,000 Riyals per month with child education cost, Is that a good offer to live well and save too?
Moreover, I want to know the rent in compunds for 2BDR and the availability factor. Also the rent for the same in non compound building. Also does this buildings have any other facilities like play area and all?
Are the indian groceries available there?
Awaiting ur reply.

Just go around this forum and you should be able to find out the rents for villas in compounds. The rents vary highly and depends on how big the compound is and such.

The offer is really good. and yes you can definitely save quite a bit because living expenses are pretty low here.

Indian groceries- I dont think that will be a worry at all! :) there are n no. of shops that will cater your every requirement in this area.

Buildings usually dont come with any play area.

I hope that this would help.
Welcome to the site, and Saudi too.

Cheers,

Compounds will certainly offer a variety of sports and recreational options for both adults and kids. Furthermore you also have the freedom to be who you are in terms of dress codes, mixed swimming etc. Yet, they come at a hefty price and also, possibly, a waiting list, in these demanding times when a large number of western expats are flooding the city to take up lucrative jobs with the many new Property Development, IT, Hospital, and Education projects.

Private Villas may offer a swimming pool and some garden space for the kids but not all of the recreational facilities.

Indian food is available galore...... in all shapes, sizes and flavors
