im an indian expat working in a hotel in muscat.i have not finished my two year contract.i still have 8 months left.so can i resign from my job and how many days of notice can i give.would there be any penalty?

Hi isshanib,

What is the notice period mentioned in your employment contract ? Usually it is 30-days's notice. But in some cases it could be more. But by the Ministry of Manpower rules, it is 30-days only.

Your employer may not let go of you so easily. They will demand a lot. But you can always refer your case to the Ministry of Manpower.

From today, you can also log in your complain online.

Without your last employer's NOC, you will not be able to come to Oman for 2 years, from the date of your departure.
