There is currently a huge choice of either coastal or inland property. Suggest you decide what your requirements are to narrow the options down a bit. For reliable independent legal advice use Pellicer and Heredia based in Alicante centre same building as the British Consul on 965 480 737. Don't use a solicitor linked to the estate agents or builder. Good luck.

When I first came here to Spain I rented an apartment while looking for a home to purchase.
Most people have a basic idea of what they want, but if you are already staying in the chosen area, you will more than likely see property that you also did now consider before.
So take your time.
In regards to legal advise, Rule of thumb: Visit 3 companies, and see what they are offering and how much it is going to cost you.

I do hope that all goes well for you and that you enjoy the vast country as much as I and my family do.
Take care
