Chartering Planes in Nigeria

Hello,

I am a private equity professional living in the US looking at potential opportunities in Nigeria and several other western sub-saharan countries.

I understand that intra-Africa flights on commercial airlines can be somewhat unreliable and also very circuitous.  Can anybody offer me insight on what the cost would be to charter a private plane (either from the oil companies or from private companies)?  For example, we may need to fly from Lagos to Libreville then to Luanda over the course of two days.

Thank you!

Yud

There are actually quite a number of air charter services in Nigeria.
To charter flights, I am familiar with the use of:

For fixed wings:
Aero Contractors - www.acn.aero
Overland - www.overland.aero/charter.htm
skyjet - http://www.barbedosgroup.com/skyjet/index.html#
OAS - http://www.oas-helicopters.org/

For Helicopters:
Bristow helicopters - http://www.bristowgroup.com/
Caverton - http://www.caverton-helicopters.com/
OAS - http://www.oas-helicopters.org/
