Property prices in Algarve

Post new topic

Hello everyone,

Finding affordable housing in Algarve is number one priority for newcomers. Tell us more about the estate market in your district/city/region.

What are the most desired places to live? What are the most affordable ones? What is the average cost of a rented flat? And what is the average sale price for an appartment or a house? Could you tell us more about local real estate policies/procedures? What about property tax or residency tax in Algarve?

What about you? Where do you live now? Is it a place you would recommend?

Thank you in advance for your clarifications.

Hi, I recommend you check out all the property sales websites and you will see how prices vary per area. If you want cheap, go inland, further from the coast..... cheaper but hotter in the summer.....

We have just put an offer in for a house around 45mins outside of Faro, your save about 25% ! The drive is easy & the views are stunning x

The further East you go from Faro, towards Spain, the hotter it gets and the opposite is true as you go West, towards Aljezur, more of an oceanic climate..... Something to keep in mind if you plan to be there in the summer.

One thing is for sure = it beats the UK weather ! x !

Planning; planning & planning!!!
No excuse for not doing homework
Yes, generally speaking, the more rural areas are cheaper in outlay, but probably will equal up in travelling costs.
I'd agree with others in recommending you do a scour of the property web-sites. Largely it comes down to what level of lifestyle you want against that you currently have.
Yes, certainly beats the UK for weather!
