Hi all, I'm new to this site and my goal is to find a place to move where the dollar stretches the farthest and the people are and friendly. With all the amazing possibilities I need some help narrowing my choices. I currently live in St. Louis, USA. My interests include eating and staying healthy, spiritually, culturally rich communities and playing guitar. I've been to Abadiania Brazil to see John of God and Iquitos to work with Shamans and loved every second of bother places. Thanks for reading my intro, Dave

Hi, it's nice to be here...

Hello Moonphish. I am new here too. Happy to meet you. I have been looking at Cartagena, Colombia but have just started exploring myself.

Some advantages/differences of Zona Cafetera, Colombia, compared to the countries you already visited:

Spanish, which is the foremost language in most of South America, is spoken here.  Not so in Portuguese-speaking Brazil.

The mild weather here would be preferable to most arriving Expats, compared to warmer and humid Iquitos.

Top cities in La Zona include Manizales and Armenia.

Coffee country has magnificent scenery.
