I like to explore new areas and meet people from around the globe. I am fun and outdoor person who tries to make most of the time doing new things. I like to watch movies and some internet research in my free time (if I get any 😜)

Looking forward to meet new people!

YusraGoingBack

Hi Everyone,

I am Yusra, I am Canadian and looking for a job in Qatar.  I am Arabic/English bilingual. I am currently working in Digital Marketing, which is highly in demand field in North America. I am not sure how to go about finding a suitable job in Qatar.

I read on some message boards that it is easier to get a job if I apply in person.I find this option is too risky because on top of the cost, distance and the risk I impose on my current employment, there is no guarantee that I will end up finding a job quickly if at all!

I tried networking on linkedin but no luck so far. Any advice please?

YusraGoingBack

Hello again, so to reply to some suggestions that were sent to my inbox; I did check Qatar living website and used their list of employers. The list is outdated and not all links are correct. I also tried other classifieds and filled out forms for job applications. My observation is majority of the lengthy forms I filled out were not submitted because of website malfunction. When I managed to submit my form, I did not hear back from the company :( .. I got contacted by recruiters from Dubai but I did not like the salary they offered me. To be frank, I maybe interested in visiting UAE but not interested in working there. Plus, I have a good job in Canada, why would employers think anyone would be willing to go overseas for a lower salary. That doesn't make sense!
Thanks again for the suggestions please keep sharing.

mohammadharoon

Hi, I'm flying to Qatar for 4 weeks at the end of Jan to complete a trial period with my employer. If all goes well I will be moving to Doha permenantly. I would like to make the most of the 4 weeks in Feb so if anyone is involved with any expat social groups particularly sports groups I would be keen to tag along. Aim of the game is to meet new people and find good reason to move my life to Qatar :-)

Cheers

Sean
