Hi Missaugust04,

In the meantime, try to view some topics on cost of living in Oman, this can give you an idea.: https://www.expat.com/forum/420-22-cost … -oman.html

thank you so much   :)

Hi missaugust04,

The salary figure which you have quoted is towards the lower end of the spectrum of expatriate salaries. I would say, expats getting paid lower than this would be most likely the blue-collar workers.

Since you have not mentioned what job this salary is for, it is difficult to assess whether it is 'good' or 'not'. If the said salary is, for example, for a domestic help, then it is indeed 'good'. If it is for a white collar job, then it is obviously 'not'. But, I guess most service industry waiting staff get paid around this figure only, plus the tips.

Since in Muscat there exists a sizeable number of Filipino expats getting a suitable accommodation may not really be an issue. For an indicative price, a sharing accommodation can be got for even as little as R.O. 30/- to R.O. 50/- per month.

Hi missaugust04,

It is better that you ask the one who has offered you the job for a detailed 'Offer Letter' before you accept the offer.

See the exact specifications of your duties and deliverables as mentioned in that official document. And the compensation amount.

Also, you must be clear of all the inclusions and exclusions in your package before you decide to accept, or negotiate for a better package.

Once the 'Offer Letter' is to your satisfaction, then that should be followed by a formal 'Employment Contract', which you and your employer must both sign.

Only after this has all been done should even you plan to travel.
