Hi from Puerto Rico

Post new topic

Gary

After spending the first 37 years of my life in Holland, I moved to Germany in 1988.
I owned a consultancy business over there; a big project made me move to Liechtenstein during the weeks and back home in the weekend for 4 years.
In 2001 I met the love of life in the internet ( yes, that also happens to 'old farts' :D ) and I moved here.

We live in the mountains of this beautiful island with my wife's 19 y/o college student daughter. There are 4 more kids ( 2 + 2) and 4 grandkids. ( I'm getting really old! :) ). To pay the bills I design and host websites and do some computer service.

I don't blog but I run a couple of forums, just for fun.

Nice meeting you all!

Welcome on board Gary!

How many languages can you speak?

Don't forget to locate yourself on the user map ;)

All the best,

Julien

Gary

Thanks :) Nice place you created here!

Languages? I'm fluent in Dutch, German and English. My Spanish ( the main language here ) is getting there and my French is rusty..

I should be on the map already.

Have  nice sunday!

Julien

You're very welcome Gary!

I've still got a lot of improvements to make on the website, I hope you'll like them ;)

Have a good day too :)

Gary

You'll never stop improving, that's the fun of maintaining a website :D.
I'm going to check out the forum software you use. I have been using phpBB and MyLittleForum for a while now on some of my sites. phpBB has been vulnerable to hacker attacks, how's that with this package?

Julien

punBB is great! (and not hacked as much as phpBB)

The only problem is that you need to add mods if you want advanced functionalities (such as the user map for example). But it's not very complicated. Have a look to punbb.org and punres.org ;)
