Hi all,

Is that true, with brexit UK needs more immigrants to contribute in their economy. My friend is planning to move so what are the chances.....

Hi Raun,

Thanks for posting; to answer your question, it's to early to say and is probably at least 2 years away until we know what the future will look like.  My interpretation of what the UK Government are saying is that there will be an end to uncontrolled immigration from the EU member states, just like it is now for people who wish to come to the UK from non-EU countries.  So, basically, if there is a vacancy that can't be filled from within the UK, then employers will be able to apply for a visa for a person from outside the UK to come here and work.

With regards to your friend coming to the UK to work, for non-EU citizens and as of now, this is pretty much only permitted where jobs are available for experienced people in a recognised profession where a shortfall exists of suitably qualified people; you can view the current list of these professions at this link.  If your friend qualifies and is keen to work in the UK, he should be looking for a job here; word of warning, watch out for scammers.
