Hi guys! My name is Georgia I'm anot American citizen who's Egyptian soon to be ex-husband filed for divorce a couple days ago. Thank God! Can anyone tell me if this will be legal in the US? As we did get the marriage license stamped at my Embassy. Thanks in advance!!

I'm sorry. Yes, born and raised in New Mexico. Yes, New Mexico is a U.S State. I lived in Egypt about 7 months.

To the best of my knowledge you have to go through divorce proceedings in the country the marriage took place.

Contact several divorce attorneys in NM via email to confirm. Generally there is no charge.
