Singapore’s Largest Two-Day 80’s Music Festival
With Pop icons from the era performing live at The Padang.

Now Music Festival 2011 – I Love 80s will be the largest 80’s music festival in Singapore. This massive two-day event will be the debut of event organiser Now Music Group. Set to take centre stage at The Padang on 2nd (Saturday) and 3rd April (Sunday) 2011, the event will feature stellar line-up of some of the biggest names in the music industry in the 80s.

Pop icons like Billy Ocean, Samantha Fox and Howard Jones will be making their first public appearances in Singapore alongside living legends Alphaville, Belinda Carlisle, Go West and Tony Hadley. 80’s music fans can expect to relive the era’s heyday of infectious Pop anthems with Top 40 Hits such as Caribbean Queen (Billy Ocean), Call Me (Go West) and Heaven is a Place on Earth (Belinda Carlisle).

“These are internationally acclaimed artists and their chart-topping singles are now classic radio hits. We want to relive that 80’s experience and nostalgia, falling in love all over again with the songs that we grew up with,” says Kenneth Siew, Creative Director of Now Music Group. “The event will mark an important milestone in shaping the entertainment culture and music scene in Asia and position Singapore as a regional entertainment hub.”

This is the first time an 80’s music event of such scale is being staged in Singapore – and with much fanfare. Singapore’s very own 80’s musicians will be opening the event with acts that thrilled their fans back in the day while street buskers will provide more entertainment on the side. Over 30 lifestyle retailers are also expected to turn up the heat at The Padang with showcases that feature the latest fashion, luxury watches, automobiles, food and beverages, as well as spa services.

“By bringing together different players in the lifestyle industry, we aim to create a one-of-a-kind experience for our audience, one where great music can be thoroughly enjoyed along with other pleasures of the good life,” explains Ivan Fernandez, Director of Business Development of Now Music Group.
