Expat returning to Brazil - Permanent Visa/Documents needed (Doubts)

rockbu

Hi,

I'm Brazilian citizen living with my Vietnamese wife in Brazil. She has a permanent visa and CIE issued by Policia Federal here.

She will need to do a 1-month trip to Vietnam and come back to Brazil.

My doubt is about which documents she can show to the airport abroad when she takes the flight back to Brazil, in order to prove she has the Brazilian visa, since both the Permanent Visa stamp and CIE are issued in Portuguese language only, and they won't be able to understand it.

Is it needed a notarized translation of the documents?

It will really help me if expats living in Brazil who travelled abroad and came back have experience with this to share.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Bruno

If you want to feel safer. Get her CIE translated to Vietnamese if you can find a translator. I really don't think she will have a problem. I don't have any problems in the USA.

I just traveled also. You can check with the Federal Police for they helped with my travel to the US. Also is her passport stamped "Permanente".  I was able to leave and re-enter Brazil on my protocol notice and of course my passport was stamped "Permanente "
The Airline folks may also assist you. I would definitely speak to the FP as I said there help in my travel was very good. Everything was fine.
