The climate means that walking is mainly an early morning activity and there are groups that regularly walk up Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera). There is also an expat group that walks up Pearl Hill and meets at Gusto's Cafe on Jalan Sungai Kelian (Tanjung Bungah). A large proportion of the medics on Penang Island have been trained overseas. There is plenty to choose from based on budget accommodation-wise.
