Recognition of foreign qualifications in Qatar

Hello everyone,

Were your professional qualifications recognised in Qatar? What country did you complete your qualifications in? What profession are you in?

Did you have to go through any formalities to get your qualifications recognised, such as to have them translated?

If your qualifications weren't recognised, were there any additional tests or exams you had to complete before you were able to practice your profession in Qatar or continue with your studies?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Hello Priscilla,

Yes I had to get my Baccalaureate degree in Chemical Engineering notarized and attested not only from the government (Ministry of External Affairs) but also by the Qatar Embassy in Singapore my home country.

However it did not seem a hassle since they are a slew of agencies / companies, offering their services for a nominal fee, whose work was solely dedicated to these kind of attestation services  for not only educational documents but other kinds of documents as well.

My qualifications were accepted and recognized in Qatar. However, I am working for a hospital that will be using an American model and all my certification are from The States. There are a few qualifications that I need specific to working in the country but my hospital is providing that for me. I was also required to take a proficiency test in The States prior to coming over. I'm not sure what others would do.

All my certifications and paperwork needed to be submitted in English. If the documents were in another language, they did require them to be professionally translated.

Hope that helps. Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Hi Priscilla,

My qualifications were accepted.  I did have to provide a letter from graduate school, saying that majority of courses were taken in person.  My qualifications are from Philadelphia, PA U.S.A. I am an educator.

Hi there,

I have a bachelors from Uk and a professional certificate ACCA, currently I am working in Dubai and they accepted the certificates for the visa purpose here. I am not sure whether they are accepted in Qatar?
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
