Hi! I am from the Philippines and I would like to know if there are companies providing work permit for foreigners like me in Malaysia? My fiance is an IT personnel, Systems Administrator while I work as an Internal Auditor and Administrative Officer.

Iamcnf

Hi! I hope I can get a reply soon.

Gravitas

You need to get  job offer from a company who can hire foreigners. So the more vacancies you apply for, the better. Take a look at Jobstreet. It would be best to get Professional Pass as you don't have to pay any levies. Categories III and IV can offer jobs with salaries less than RM5k per month i.e. minimum RM2,490 per month. Companies will know if they can apply for a work permit based on their paid up capital and structure. Only those will likely contact you.  IT is an easy area to find work in. Audit/Admin will be more difficult.

Thank you Gravitas. I tried looking for jobs through jobstreet, michael page and the likes but haven't got a response yet. I think IT is really in demand in Malaysia now. I Don't really have experience in IT but just more on information security.

Gravitas

It can take weeks to get responses and the recruiters only contact people they shortlist. Your partner could also take a look at what jobs SpringAsia have - https://www.springasia.com/it-jobs  But your degree and/or experience need to match the type of jobs you apply for. Be prepared to diversify to find work. The job market does not seem very active at the moment. It will probably pick up again in late August/early September.  Local languages might be needed for an admin officer position. But do also take a look at https://unjobs.org/duty_stations/kul to see if there are any suitable jobs for non-Malaysians as well as signing up on internations dot org.

I appreciate your response. I'll check out the site you referred and Hopefully we can find the most suitable jobs for us. I am also considering studying bahasa and maybe mandarin but I know it will take time.

I noticed these recent jobs on Jobstreet

https://www.jobstreet.com.my/en/job-sea … bs/?rlts=1

Also check out if Agoda have any suitable vacancies. Sometimes jobs using mother tongue are a good option.

That would be a great help. I'll check it out. Thank you so much Gravitas.
