Hi there!

I am an international teacher originally from the UK who will be moving to Saigon in August and im looking for some advice about where to live.  I have a pretty generous accommodation allowance and my work will help me find an apartment but i am interested in the idea of a shared apartment or villa with other expats (not necessarily teachers!) who are in their late 20's-30's who may be moving to Saigon or who may already be there and looking for a place in late July-beginning of August.  I heard about shared villas with pools and got very excited!

I consider myself to be pretty easy going, independent and i enjoy traveling and im looking forward to exploring Vietnam and south east Asia more.

Im also keen on acquiring a scooter  -is renting better than buying? I currently have a 50cc vespa -do they have these there? and would i need a special license? hummmmph....

So get in touch if you interested!

Hi Malahini,
Welcome you to HCMC.:)
i think if you can drive a Scooter, then you can stay in dist.2 where has vilas +pools:) or dist.7.
renting or buying a Scooter? it depends on how long you live here. if a short time, renting is better otherwise buying. It has many kind of Vespa here but its price is not nice:(.a new one is not less than 5K USD, i guess :P
But don't be worry, it has alot of nice scooter here not only Vespa:D
if on your car driver license has mention that you can driver motobike....so you do not have an exam here, just do transfer to vietnamese license (i heard my australian colleage said that), otherwise you have to do an exam.
Hope this help.
