With much of sadness , the NOC rules make it very hard for expats here. I have recieved a better job than the existing one but company refused to provide noc. Then they can set their own salary etc. It is unfair.

ww1

And the SAD part is that our own people mostly Indians at key posts in the companies are promoting , backing  and supporting this NOC  slavery rule. We are still with slave minds and slave genes.

You will see them as HR managers , Administrators, CEOs  etc  blocking your way out and spoiling your career for their personal short term  gains. and they are spoiling the name of Oman/Omanis on the face

Original owners and sponsors are not bothered about that unless it is a really a very  bad employee.

Sometimes these intermediate bosses will play a double game . Very polite and innocent  in front of you pretending to support and help you  but on the other side poison the authorities/sponsors to squeeze you and devoid you of the NOC and other benefits like promotions/increments/incentives  etc.

in Europe/USA/Canada  etc  once you a get a work permit you are free to work anywhere anytime -daily wages ,hourly/weekly  etc . that s why there is brain drain to that side .

Recent Survey conducted on whether NOC has to be continued (both Expats & Omani votes) showed dominating percentage in favour for NOC than Opposition.

So we have to get along with the society!

ww1

Majority expats here illiterate on with low level of education and cant have access to twitter  or can not communicate in english or arabic. Even some educated ppl have wrongly voted becz of the questions were not clear understanding.
Moreover One wrong thing will not always  become a right even if the so called majority decides. It is fact that becz of the NOC basic riggts of employees are affected. There is bargaining ,deprivation from end of service benefits or exploitation of work hours and oveetime allownce. Also work place abuse etc.

Oman is a country where organizations have wrong people at the right place. What do you expect from a company's manager whose qualification is not more than intermediate (forged degrees and certificates) with a mental level of being a slave to the owner (Arbab). He will apply the same norms of unethical behavior to the employees who're working under him.
I have always said that there's a whole wide world out of Oman. Broaden up the horizons and explore what could be the best for educated people who've the skills, both technical and professional to utilize for their own futures in a much better environment.

Situation in Oman will continue to proceed as is due to the reason, that the industry has been run by the higher officials with a limited capability of mental approach that promotes slavery. So either take it as is or leave and explore the new opportunities that may be far and far better for all of you.
