Registering UK van in Romania

Post new topic

Hello there,

As I am moving to romania very soon, and I will bring my stuff in my old van,
I would like to know how much could it cost to register it to a romanian plate.
The van is a 2001 2.4td ford transit MK6.
Also as the MOT is about to expire can I have it fixed there and MOT there?
I really can't afford another vehicle, I was told that the pollution tax could run
into a 500 euro or so bill which could be OK.
Thanks a lot in advance for your replies

There is no pollution tax since Feb 2017, and you would have to do an ITP (MOT equiv) here anyway in order to register the vehicle.  You can do this at the same time you go to RAR to make the Romanian ID card for the van

Costs:
37 RON Registration Certificate
40 RON Vehicle Reg Plates
150 RON ITP
RAR...minimum 650 RON...probably more for your old van.

Also you'll need RCA insurance of course, you can look up quotes online.
