W.salaam
The company doesn't want to change it because if the employee is having an engineer iqama then the renewal charges will increase upon the company and it will also effect the ratio of saudi and expats in a company. Hence to be on a safe side they will not let your husband change his profession.. rather they will prefer losing him as an employee.
He can ask for some technicians profession instead.
How much time now a days SCE takes for registration?
seldev2k3 wrote:Dear All ,
I heard changing profession will start from 1st Muharam. I saw many people postedmessage like changing profession was started from yesterday. Please update the real status.
It has started yesterday. But the process is done online through a request which will be done by your HR. Once it is approved online the Saudi guy from your co. who does all the govt related stuff has to take your documents and submit it.
Then either you pay 1000 SR or your company does it and u get a new printed Iqama.
Its open from sunday and from 1st Muharam new rules will be applied and no one knows about new rules so better to change profession before Ist muharam.

According to what I have seen few days back my friend received it in 15 days.
You can do it all by yourself.
i can guide u through the procedure if u want to know that.
Sana nayeem wrote:So for technician visa we dnt need attestation of degree?
No! You only need a good company who can support your request. and u will be charged 1000SR for changing it.
And yes technician Profession can apply for a family visa
Tks for ur info bro. I will.chk out my HR regarding this..
I came to know from friends that SEC membership is required only when our profession title is "Engineer" any engineer whether it is computer/mechnical/elcetrical, but for profession computer programmer or any else, you don't need SEC membership. please share if i am correct ?
Yes your information is right you don't need registration for technician only for engineers registration is necessary.
Thanks brother for your kind response.my company HR is doing it for me.if I need any help I will ask you INSHALLAH Khair.

Brother Hasan!
Your Welcome!
Please keep updating us about the process your HR is going through as there might be some new requirements which could help others to prepare when they start the same process.
and let us also know about the status of your profession change process.
Thanks
Sure brother I will update here.

Tell him to keep nagging about it everyday.
See it's not the fault of HR but the organisation itself. If they say to do it HR will do it if they say NO.. HR cannot help.
So please don't show your anger or harsh words upon HR's rather take a paper/internal memo and write it to the General manager.
But I cannot assure you about your job safety after doing so.

Now AlHamd U Lillah all confusions are solved except this one:
For the process of degree attestation from Saudi Embassay in Pakistan, copy of Iqama is also required in the documents, So do they make any issue that your iqama is of labor and you want to attest your engineering degree.
Any pakistani brother who attested degree from pakistan by submitting labor iqama please share experience?

Do you have personal experience of it ?
No issue I got my degrees attested from with Labour iqama and also my marriage certificate attested with Labour iqama and after that got attested from saudi MOFA here in saudia with Labour iqama no issue at all.
Hi I just want to ask if the change of profession is already effective or it will only start at the begining of Hijri Calendar?
Is it necessary to match the title of degree with the profession? I read on some pages that it should be the same. I have a degree in Software Engineering and I want profession of computer programmer, So will be there any issue?
Hello All,
my HR informed me that profession change to engineering or medical professions is still not open even for valid members of SEC... its only open for standard professions like sales and accounts... is this true?
did anyone get their profession changed to Engineer during this week?
My company is also changing my profession to engineer and applied for SCE registration.I will ask my HR will let you know.
I need a small guidance from you all....
My husband is graduated as B.E(Electronics and communication engg). He has 10yrs of experience in IT industry...
Is Telecom engg is a gud profession for him?
I mean is that profession alotted for Saudis?
Or else is that create any problem in future bcoz of this engineering profession?
Pls share your valuable commands...
I heard the same from different persons from different companies.is there anyone who have references in Labour office so they can tell us clearly.
Computer operator profession eligible for family visa ?
So does this mean that transfer to engineering profession is most likely still not open? Because I am valid member of SCE and my Hr informed me that they still wont change profession. Please let me know what your company says.
So I think we should change our profession to some other other profession eligible for famli visa after that in muharam should change it again to Engineer.
