The most important thing is to do your homework before you even arrive.
I would recommend the following to anyone even thinking of moving to Bhutan:
*the realistic opportunities for employment in their field of expertise
*the cost and standard of housing in Paro and Thimphu, must less other towns
*the cost, diversity and availability of products of food
*full awareness of the taxation, administration, legals governmental and spiritual systems in Bhutan
the costs of conversion (electronics, internet differences, access to media, infrastructure, logistics, costs of travel to and from, etc)
*the availability, affordability and adequacy of health care, including tertiary services
*their motivation for so doing, critically examined in considerable depth
*contingency planning in the event of disaster--natural, man-made
