The processing time varies from embassy to embassy. I suggest to contact the one where you applied and ask how long they need.

Thanks for your reply. official website says generally about 3 months. That,s why i am so worried and mine is almost 4 months

Then contact them and ask why your application takes longer than normal.

I applied for mine in Colombo embassy. It took 11 weeks, they called me on the 11tg week and asked me to fly there and get it. Normally you can't get any information from German embassy in Colombo through telephone. I had the same issue, we don't have a German embassy in Maldives and I told them I can't fly there simply to ask a question, they told me that's the regulation, which is no information about visa over the phone. If you live in Sri Lanka, I recommend you to go there personally and ask them why it has taken over 3 months. They should have called you regardless you get a visa or not. I assume some how they are not able to contact you in this case. Don't worry, just go there and get it clarified. All the best... Let us know how it goes.

I called them and asked about visa they said they received letter from Germany they need some time to check documents but it’s been one month exactly they told before one month. What’s the case how they inform that I got visa or not. It’s been 6 months since I applied.

Maybe you should call them and ask? No one here can tell you but the office you are dealing with?
