...hello and hallo from a German girl stranded in North West England.

Having spent short periods abroad throughout my studies, I ended up here in September 2004, and the British keep surprising me every day - mostly in a positive sense.

Whenever I get a little homesick, I remind myself of how great a privilege it is to plunge into another culture - life just never gets boring!!

Wishing you many moments of insight and amazement.

Thank you, Jo Ann and Julien :)

I think this website is great - I'll spread the word!

I lived in France for nine and in Italy for five months, stopped by in San Francisco (two months) and finally moved to Manchester to do a PhD in art history (just couldn't face doing an office job yet ;) ). I feel like staying here for a while, but I know I'll get itchy feet again...

Thanks for your support, we really need help to promote the website ;)

The big fish and chips on your blog reminded me a lot of things  I used to leave in London for a couple of years

Hope you're having fun in Manchester!
