Dear,
Congrats for the offer, I too an Indian residing in KSA for last 13 years with family mostly in Riyadh. Its  safest city to live in, Only required you to adopt the strict social norms and to acclimatize to extreme weather conditions.
Its relatively easy process to get license and drive a car.

Your life depends a lot with your offer (Package)& company, once you are in its not easy to cancel and go back if you wish to do before your contract period ends.

good luck..
:)

City is as safe as it gets, don't worry.

No booze, but you can smoke.

Food cost is cheap and its hot during summer and cold during winter

Indian food is available throughout the city

I just moved to Riyadh 3 months ago from Miami (USA)..

1. Hows life at riyadh ? = Life is what you make it here.. also depends on if you plan on living a compound or villa/apt.. Living in a compound some life that you are use to back in India..

2. hows the safety for expats ?? = very safe..  you should have no issues.

3.is it okay if i drive there as company is giving car. = driving is CRAZY here.. no one follows the lanes, but then again, people drive the same way in India, so you might be ok. hahaa

Thanks romello..... So no booze and entertainment stuff ryt ???

Algérienneariyadh

YES... NO DRINKING ALLOWED

It's safer than India the U.K. The USA and any western country.

Groceries depend also on what u re used to u can spend as much as 500 a 1000 or 3000 a month but oeverall vegetables proteins and dairy are cheap the thing that might be expensive are the imported brands.

You can find many family friendly entertainment shows, mainly for kids like light shows for example.

Just a head up, first couple of months max upto six are the crucial ones with teething problems. Once you cross that period, life is pretty easy !!

Country is very very safe as compared to India.

Good luck :)

problems as in ???

Weather, Transportation, language, reaching places, making people understand simple things, getting things done quickly.  Blah blah

Most of the things will surely test your patience limit. And Being patient is the key.

If you live in a compound, and you are able to get your hands of some alcohol, then things will take care of itself. 👍

One important thing, plan your day around prayer times.. everything shuts down for about 40mins during prayer times.. it's a pain in the a** at first, but you get used to it, and plan your day around it.

thanks for your time.

The language barrier isn't that bad, a good percentage of people speak at least broken English..
As for rating Riyadh overall, I'm from Miami, so I'm probably not the best person to answer it.. haha
I would give it a 6.... purely do to the tax free money, cost of living is cheap, it's safe, and Dubai, Bahrain are a short flight away if you need to get away for a wknd and party.
