Keeping in touch while living in Denmark

Hello everyone,

What are the best ways you've found for keeping in touch with friends and family back home while living in Denmark? How frequently do you stay in touch with loved ones?

Are there local equivalents to common instant messaging and online video calling services that you prefer or are more widely used?

If there is a sizeable time difference, how do you manage this?

Do you make international phone calls from a landline or mobile phone from Denmark? What do you think of the cost?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Priscilla

I speak with the U.K. on a daily basis.  Both for business and personal reasons.  Telenor have an excellent Europe wide inclusive deal which means I can call without international charges.  I also use WhatsApp.  This I have found to be invaluable because a number of U.K. mobiles cannot send or receive to/from me.  I assume this is because there is no 'handshake' arrangement with Telenor.  This I have found most with O2 and Tesco mobile services.

We use Skype , whatsapp and FaceTime. These are free and easily accessable.
