Cpr registeration

Post new topic

MockDen

We are moving to Denmark in April 2022. We haven’t finalised any apartment yet and will be living in Airbnb for sometime initially. But the airbnb is not giving option for CPR registration.
So my question is for how long can I wait to get the cpr registered as we don’t have an apartment finalised yet?
Is it fine to wait for 1-2 months to get the cpr registeration done? Or am I expected to do cpr registeration within some specific duration once I reach Denmark?

It is possible to register at a hostel, a hotel or at an Airbnb address If the landlord doesn't mind.

Normally, you shall registrate within 5 days from the move, but the registration bill doesn't take these practical issues for expats into consideration, but I asked an Icitizen-centre a couple of years ago how to understand the 5 days, and got the answer:
The main rule is that you must register within 6 months of receiving you work and residence permit.

That is, don't worry about the five days, but get an appointment at the International Citizen centre as soon as possible after arriving. They will help and advise you as best they can so that the administration will be smooth and gentle.

I cannot help thinking that your company might help you with such practical issues, too.

@MockDen after how many days you were able to register your CPR?

MockDen

My appointment was scheduled a day after I movef to the rental apartment as you will need an active rental agreement for the cpr registration. ( you would have to take the appointment few days in advance). I got my card within 10 days after the appointment

Hi

Wondering if someone can give me some guidance on the CPR number:

1) Online I'm reading that if it's your 1st CPR number, one would need to register for the CPR online 1st before selecting an in-person date with documents. Is this correct?

2) BUT I've also seen somewhere else that I need just to book an appointment at my local service centre and bring my documents. If i know the date I am landing in denmark, is it possible for me to already book an in-person appointment now for the day after I arrive or should I only book it the day I arrive (for the next day as planned).

Lastly, Can I just book at my local municipality (where I see dates are fairly easy to get) or would I need to go to the international service centre in my nearest big city (where I see dates are a little harder to come by)

SO LOST LOL

Hi,

1)

As I understand the process, you just book a date and meet up. I see no objections to book the appointment before arrival, but you have to be in the country before you can get the number.

The municipality of Copenhagen has an online registration.

2)

It's only a few municipalities which have a national register office:

@MockDen hi there! Was this your permanent apartment that you moved into or an airbnb? We're moving next year (October) and I'm wondering how we'll get an apartment without CPR and get the CPR without an address. We're going for a quick visit in April and I'm wondering if I should schedule some appointments to look at places and chat with landlords. We live in Ireland so I'm wondering if my husband should go over first and set things up before I bring the kids over. Hope you're enjoying your new home!
