Traffic in Ghana

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

Which city or area do you live in in Ghana, and how do you find the traffic?

How long does it take to commute to work or run errands?

Is there a rush hour in your city? What times of the day would you recommend people to avoid driving if they can?

Are there any ways to avoid spending too much time in traffic in Ghana?

What is parking availability and cost like?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

If you are moving to Accra it is always advisable to live as close to your work place as possible as most areas become clogged with traffic at rush hour.
There are often alternative routes but they are usually on bush type roads which are difficult to negotiate in the wet season.
I have been driving for 7 years and try to avoid the rush hours and find it particularly difficult in the dark as street lights rarely exist and the police are not in evidence in hotspots like they are in the day so drivers are more undisciplined
