@Lachmcc Hi, I have just signed up to this after reading many comments on here and seem to be the same scenario as mine but a little more complicated.  I have travelled to philippines 6 times already until February this year where I was refused entry because of a 19 year old past crime. I have been married to a filipina and we have a house in philippines. My wife can go back but I can't..  looked into so many lawyers saying g they can help but need loads of money up front before even discussing the case and what they can do for me..already been conned out of money so really need to find the right one who has the power to liase with my lawyer here in UK.

He should know what to look for and a couple of emails and maybe video calls from your UK lawyer may work. He can ask how many cases like yours the Philippines lawyer has dealt with and his or her success rate and maybe examples and files from some of the cases he has won.www.gov.uk also shows a list of English speaking lawyers in the Philippines prepared by the British Embassy in Manila.

What was the nature of your crime?

tenpin300

@Cherryann01 I have a lawyer here in the UK doing what he can but he cant proceed until we find a lawyer in the Philippines to do what he cant from this side of the ocean. We have spoken to many wanting to take your money just for a consultation and then say they cant take it on or my lawyer here is not confident in them and the ones that do want to take it on, want ridiculous amounts of money more than my UK Lawyer.,, so Hoping to find on here someone who has been on the BL and had it removed successfully so I can get recommendations.

I just need to find a good attorney in the Philippines that's competent and confident to help me gain entry back to Philippines.

Still awaiting an answer to my original question. You have requested advice on this forum to find a solution to your denied entry to the Philippines but are withholding the reason for your UK conviction. Why is that? You state that you have a UK lawyer. The first question they will ask you is the nature of the offence. The lawyer will then tailor their response appropriately.

Tenpin the Philippines tends to attract a disproportionate number of visitors/expats with a criminal record. Some are minor others more serious. The country attracts a high % of perverts: Fact, not summation or speculation. If you are in that category and I am not saying you are then it is only fair that respondents have the right to know who they are responding to and for what reason

I'm thinking the lawyers are paying vigorish up and down the line. Everyone involved gets a gratuity.

I may be able to help.  I am a legal counsel by profession. I am a solo practitioner and have my own office in the CBD of Makati City.  I am sorry that you have a sad state of experience with some Filipino lawyers in the past. Or are they lawyers really or just acting like a lawyer? Have you checked if they are indeed lawyers from the the website of the Supreme Court? And on the fees, it is imperative and logical that a client set a consultation with the lawyer the reason being is that for a lawyer to know the attending facts, what the client desires under the circumstances and what legal recourse should be taken.  I have foreign clients too in the past and currently and we have a good client-lawyer relationshio. On your specific concern on lifting the blacklis order by the Bureau of Immigration, I have assissted in the past.  For any professional help I may be of service, I will gladly do so professionally.  Let me know.

Cheers!

@Lotus Eater well the answer to your question is a sex offence which I served 18 months for. I am ashamed of the crime hence reasons why I don't like talking about it to strangers. It only needs to be discussed into more detail with the right person that has the power to do something about it. I have a good circle of friends and been married to my wife who knew of my offence 4 days into my relationship and she has been with me now for 12 years.all the family know, mine and hers and all stand by me. I don't travel to the philippines looking for sex or anything else, as that is not me.I go everywhere with my wife and we travel alot. I have been to many countries on holidays  since I we have been together buy since the new law came out from the NCA, then most asian countries have stricter rules enforced stopping past criminals coming in. We have travelled together 6 times to philippines prior to myself being  refused entry and always travelled the islands staying in nice hotels and resorts. I have spent so much time with my wife's family that I have bonded with them and we helped them this year with buying a house and moving them out of the poverty side of manila to alot better location away from flooding every year etc. I go to philippines purely for holiday vacation with my wife and spend time with her family so please anyone don't judge me thinking I'm going there for anything else.. I have a normal life with goodness in my heart who just needs help to get back to how it was travelling to philippines on vacation.

@Enzyte Bob I don't mind if everyone involved is dabbing there hands in the pot of money to help me get the goal as long as the job is being done right and the price don't go out of control.. I'm not a rich man I'm just a construction worker on a simple wage here in the UK, but my life now is with my filipina wife and it's very important to me to spend time with her and her family abroad. I understand there is alot of shady people around who may deal cash under the table to get answers etc  which is good for me if I can find the right one to get where we need to go, but again it's finding that person

tenpin300

@xilefnerrad hello Darren  tha k you for your comments. Do you have the right channels to go through to get to the immigration attorneys etc or know who can help then..?

I understand about consultations but myself and my lawyer  here in the UK have discussed details many times to different lawyers there saying they can help buy won't discuss anything on what they can do or which paths to take without passing a big consultation fee over first.  You then pay but there fee only to hear that my lawyer here is not happy of confident in them to be able to overcome this BL Order.  I am searching for someone who can help me for me then to pass there details over to him to make contact and discuss into alot more details of the case in hand and the  procedures etc.

He likes to speak with them first either facetime on telegram or what's app before we waste anymore money on another consultation fee.. I hope you understand..one lawyer wanting payment first before even giving me her email address,  I mean that's just ridiculous.

tenpin300

@hossainshakawat197 well I had all sorts of quotes.. the most expensive was 25 thousand English pounds so that was a no go,, I just don't have that sort of money. Had a couple say around 8 thousand which again is alot but my lawyer here was not confident in him at all so we passed on that one. I know I'm a foreigner but being a foreigner doesn't make me rich, that's what most of the Philippines believe I'm sure.

I am a normal man working in construction with a normal wage.

@Bhavna Hi I am looking for a good lawyer there in the philippines that works close with immigration to help me remove my name from the BL for a past crimanal record over 19 years ago.

Cherryann01

I have seen a couple of you tube videos from The Filipina Pea where she was with a lawyer called Grace or Gracie and they were discussing matters relating to Ex Pats and visitors to the Philippines. Have a look for the videos, watch them and see what you think. I am not sure what field she specialises in but she always came across to me as someone who knows what she is talking about and she has been on Pea's channel discussing a wide variety of subjects.
