Work Permit Process

Hi,
My husband and I came to Kuwait on a tourist visa and my husband is offered a job and he is given a work permit however we are confused about the procedure. Do we have to go back to Canada to get his security clearance or can he get it from the Canadian embassy here or another GCC country? And the same for the medical certificate ?
Did anyone go thru this situation and what process did you do?
Also how can he sponsor me?
Can anyone advice?

Most of us did. Yes, he needs to go back to Canada to start the process, but with that being said, he might not have to depending how well connected his employer is, if you catch my drift.

Sponsoring you is easy once he gets you residency, that can be completed in a couple of weeks, but you will also need to go through the whole process back home.

Everything is more complicated anywhere else compared to home because there are things you didn't have to deal with back home. Ask yourself this: would it be any different for someone else coming into Canada from elsewhere and trying to sort out all the paperwork?

On a positive side, you need to go through this once. It is a bit of a pain, but after that it is smooth sailing.
