Are you looking into teaching students at a school or lecturing at university?

Lathesh

Teaching in college, Sir.

iskandarhack

Keep in mind that almost all public universities have stopped hiring expats and require a PhD for a lecturer position. So you search should concentrate on private colleges.

I had 30 years experience, and was a tenured Associate Professor and department chair back in the US and had no luck with the public universities. I was able to find a position at a private university.

Gravitas

With just 3 years of experience it may be tough. But if you have programming experience and qualifications as a software engineer, that will be the best area to try and find work in Malalysia as a foreigner. Software testing is also a possible area for employment.  You will need to be flexible and apply for a wide range of positions. If you don't have formal teaching credentials it will be impossible.

Lathesh

Please give me some names of private universities.

Way too many to mention, just look on the web with Google.

The biggies are:
Monash
Sunway
Taylor
UniKL
Uniten
Petronas

but there are probably well over a hundred of them around now. But a LOT are not going to be looking for a non-PhD expat unless you have some expertise that they can't find locally.

Lathesh

Thank you so much sir.
I’ll try all these universities and I’ll surely let you know about my progress.

The Kindest

i am looking for some legal advise. I was offered a job at managerial post in an international school. My position was based at the head office. I was asked to join immediately while I was on depended pass. The work pass came in January. My contract says the employment begins on subject to approval of work pass. I need to understand my probation period, if starts from the day I joined or from the day I got my work permit? Any corporate law expert here please help.
My two children are also depended on my work permit. If I leave the company with mutual consent what will be the status of my children, whether they will be able to continue schooling after the dependent pass is cancelled. Will the school arrange for their students pass and my guardian pass again.
Any information or guidance will be a great help.

Gravitas

If you leave you will need to apply for the Guardian visa again. I thought all kids over 7 years of age attending an international school had to get a student pass. I think the rules changed recently.

The Kindest

Thank you Gravitas.
Any link or any website where I can get more details about the changed rule.
Thank you in advance.

Gravitas

The Guardian Visa relies on the child having a Student Visa - as you had before.

It just seemed strange the student visa was replaced by a dependent visa.

The Kindest

Thank you Gravitas once again for the response.
My spouse has a temperary employement pass. On our arriavl in KL, we applied for kids admission in international schools. One of the famouse school accepted their admission. So they got student passes and I got dependent pass. After some time When I got a job offer the school, at the time of renewl of student pass said that children will no more have student pass rather now they will be mother's dependent. The school also told us that its new immigration rule.
That's where I want to understand from reliable resources if its true and whether my kids can get student pass again if I leave the job. or Will i be able to get the dependet pass again.

Gravitas

Ask the school for the current information. Immigration varies State to State. I think you will find everything reverts to under your spouses' immigration status once you give up work. So hopefully you didn't move him to be a dependent under your EP.
