Medical Insurance for 5 months pregnant wife in KSA

Post new topic

Mohammedkhan0602

My wife is 5 months pregnant now, she is on her fathers iqama right now, I am planning to transfer her on my iqama soon. Here I have couple questions,

1. Will she be eligible for a medical insurance?
2. I have a class C medical insurance provided by my employer from GlobeMed, will I be able to buy another insurance from different company for my wife and myself with higer class of coverage?

FYI: My wife currently has insurance coverage from her fathers company.

Thanks, and will greatly appreciate all your responses.

As an individual, you will NOT get medical insurance covering pregnancy as there is a waiting period for that i.e. usually you have to have the policy for 12 months before they cover maternity and dental.

The only way she can be covered for maternity benefits is under a corporate insurance.  If the coverage that you have is not enough, you can try to ask your company to raise your policy level to A or VIP and you pay the difference.

So to summarize:

1) Only eligible for corporate medical insurance, existing policies under you or her father - if maternity coverage is what you need.  Eligible for other policies excluding maternity
2) Yes you can but these policies will NOT cover maternity for the first 12 months at least
